Contango Resources

Contango Resources is an executive consultancy company based in Karlstad and Stockholm. The company is led by two experienced professionals, Karin Skoglund and Cecilia Holmberg, who bring extensive expertise in leadership, financial management, and strategic challenges across multiple industries.

With a shared goal of driving business growth, optimizing structures, and creating long-term value, they have built a partnership focused on results and operational excellence.

The team behind Contango Resources brings extensive and diverse experience from both national and international companies across a wide range of industries – including oil and gas, manufacturing, forestry, automotive, mining, consulting, infrastructure, transportation, and energy, to name a few. We operate across various ownership structures, such as publicly listed, family-owned, and private equity-backed companies.

Our mission is to implement strategically sustainable changes and improvements in every business-critical challenge. We step in, take responsibility, and drive change that creates long-term value – whether it involves filling a key position, leading a restructuring project, or optimizing business processes. Karin Skoglund

Karin is a strategically focused consultant with solid experience in executive management and corporate restructuring. She has held roles as CEO, CFO, and Deputy CEO, and has successfully led projects in M&A, IPOs, and the implementation of shared service centers. With a background spanning multiple industries – including oil and gas, automotive, and medical technology – she brings deep expertise in strategic advisory, financial governance, and change management. Karin is a certified board member and has an Executive Board Programme Education from INSEAD in France. She is multilingual and fluent in both Swedish and English.

Cecilia Holmberg

Cecilia has held senior roles such as CFO, Chief Business Controller, Supply Chain Manager, and CPO in both Swedish and international companies. She has worked across various industries, including transportation, IT, manufacturing, logistics, and medical technology. Her experience spans financial management, M&A, restructurings, Lean principles, negotiations, and system implementations. Cecilia has also led projects in change management and business planning, successfully navigating complex business challenges. She is a certified board member and has contributed to strategic decision-making in several organizations.
